Street Attacks Self Defense Seminar
January 30, 10:30AM - 12:30PM
Realistic self defense seminar focusing on the most common street attacks not only will we focus on the physical but also the mental training that is needed to survive an attack. Open to men and women ages 16 and older.
About the instructor:
Master Instructor Joe Goytia has been involved in the martial arts for over 30 years. He has several black belts in traditional martial arts such as Tae Kwon Do and Karate. He is a certified instructor in Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do and Filipino Kali under two of JKD's top instructors, the late Ted Lucay Lucay and Paul Vunak. Both of whom have trained under Bruce Lee's protege Dan Inosanto. Joe has extensive training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Indonesian Pentcak Silat and shootwrestling. In combat sports Joe has won several championships in boxing and kickboxing during his tour of duty with the US Marine Corps. As a trainer in combat sports he has trained several fighters to championships in boxing, kickboxing and mixed martial arts. While in the Marine Corps Joe became an instructor of hand-to-hand combat to Marine Corps united. In a civilian capacity he has continued to train Marine Corps personnel in hand-to-hand combat as well as training state and local police.

Forsa Training hosted its first yoga class! Erin Kelly demonstrated some fantastic ways to recover and rejuvenate our bodies. Forsa Training is all about power, stamina, endurance and strength. This class allowed our members and nonmembers to recover from stress, tension and fatigue.

Forsa Training CPR Fundraiser!

Forsa Training partnered with the Ronald McDonald House near Advocate Childrens Hospital in Oak Lawn to host a CPR certification fundraising event. All proceeds went to the Ronald McDonald House near Advocate Childrens Hospital in Oak Lawn. Fourteen individuals participated raising over $300 for such an amazing organization. Forsa Training hosts Rape Prevention Seminar!

Instructor Victor Goitia led 23 women on an intense and interactive 2 hour session how to defend oneself from an aggressor. This was an empowering session that introduced women real life situations that we all hope the will never encounter in their lifetime. Women learned how to handle the most common scenarios one would encounter on the street.
Forsa Training Announces Kickboxing Class!

Forsa Training announces new kickboxing session taught by owner and head trainer Maria Torres! Kickboxing will be held every Saturday morning at 9:00 AM beginning January 17th. Kickboxing will cost $150 for 12 sessions (price includes boxing gloves). If you bring your own gloves, the price for 12 sessions is $120. Please email or call 708.446.2101 if you're interested!

"Maria Torres had a passion for fitness at a young age. “I grew up with three brothers, so I wanted to do everything they did,” she said. “I ran track, played basketball, did kickboxing. “But when I had kids, I put myself on the back burner. And after years of being home, I decided, ‘I need to do something for myself and pursue my passion.’ ”
As a result of that passion, Forsa Training opened in early December at 4903 W. 95th St. in Oak Lawn. Co-owned by Torres and her brother Alex Gallegos, the gym quickly enrolled more than two dozen members."
